With the start of the workweek underway, many at-home workers woke up to a Slack (WORK) outage that has made it difficult to send messages or use the platform at all.

Customers reported on Twitter that they were having problems with the communications site on Monday. The program’s name even trended on the social media platform nationwide with many users saying that “If Slack isn’t working today neither are we.”

Slack updated its status site multiple times on Monday, noting the issues.

The status site said there are issues with the platform which is preventing some users from connecting to the system. At 11:40 a.m. EDT, Slack said that users were “experiencing general performance issues,” such as “degraded performance” across devices.

The company also said it was “working to get to the bottom of this and will share more news soon.”

Slack first reported slowness in its system on desktops, browsers, and mobile devices at 10:05 a.m. EDT on Monday. The company said the issue was “impacting sending messages” and causing troubles with API calls. The company also listed link previews, posts and files, login, search, connections, apps, and integration API problems.

Slack appears to be making updates to its status site about every 30 minutes to keep users posted. Its latest update at 12:08 p.m. EDT said, “There are no changes to report as of yet, but we’re continuing to dig in on our side and will update you again in 30 minutes.”

At the time of writing, there was no indication of how long the problems would persist on the site.

Slack also reported issues on Sept. 29. At the time, users said they were unable to send and receive messages in addition to degraded performance issues. After a few hours, Slack had resolved most of the problems and continued to repair the remaining issues with the platform.

Shares of Slack were trading at $28.28 as of 12:20 p.m. EDT, up 49 cents or 1.76%. Slack The Slack messaging application is seen on a phone screen on Aug. 3, 2017. Photo: Reuters/Thomas White
