Each year two homes are built for this GHBA fundraiser in prime communities and with donated materials, labor and services from GHBA members. The homes are sold at market value and proceeds from the sale of the home are donated to two local charities — HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home. Since the project began 40 years ago, nearly $12 million has been raised.

“This five-bedroom, four-bath home is an incredible investment for the growing family,” said Rob Hellyer, president of the GHBA. “It comes loaded with amenities not often found in homes with similar pricing. The buyer of this home also gets the added bonus of knowing their purchase has contributed to [help] wounded veterans returning from service and the homeless of Houston.”

HistoryMaker has more than 70 years of experience building quality homes. Their product line can be seen in Sierra Vista that is located in Brazoria County in Iowa Colony, convenient to downtown. Residents will enjoy access to resort-style swimming pools, Texas Splash Pad, outdoor basketball court, and a fitness studio.

GHBA members who donated to construction include All Points Group, HomePro Technology, All State Brick, A C Construction, DPIS Builder Services, Excell Foundations, Universal Forest Products, Windstorm Group, Mohawk, TWI, Country Wide Roofing, Santollo Construction Clean Up LLC, Deep Blue Comfort, Carrier, Rock Materials, Builders Choice Inc., Royal Bath /Counter Source, Flooring Services of Texas, Advantage Gutters, Factory Builder Stores, Sherwin Williams Paint, Builders First Source, Perfection Supply, Jacobs Overhead Door, Fashion Glass and Mirror, Datasmart Home Technologies, RT Masonry, Delta Faucet, Moore Home Solutions, Rosenburg Plumbing, Progress Lighting, Reyes Tar Painting, Decor Hardware and Creative Landscape and Design.

“HistoryMaker has an extensive base of vendors, suppliers and trades who are willing to give back to the community,” said Mickey Pizzitola, Houston division president. “We are honored to be able to build this home with their contributions so that two local charities will be able to change the lives of those in need.”
