The Mississippi Aquarium is now offering custom license plates to support conservation efforts of endangered species. The license plate can be purchased for $33 where 24 of that will go to the Aquarium’s conservation program. The plate will feature the aquarium’s three sails, the Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle, and the bottle nose dolphin. The aquarium needs 300 commitments before they are able to go into full production and they are currently halfway to their goal. This effort will help fund research and tagging projects to help save endangered species in the Mississippi Sound and beyond. MS Aquarium PR and Communication Manager Corey Ball said, “So it’s more than just having a dolphin, or a cute turtle on your car, it’s really about supporting the aquarium and as a community in whole so it’s really supporting your front yard in the Gulf and making sure these species will be safe for a long, long time after we’re gone so our children and generations after us can experience that wildlife as well.” If you would like to purchase one of the tags, the application can be found at www.msaquarium.org.
