– She said the DP’s kindness always touched her heart because it was part of who he is
Most married men love to jokingly say “happy wife, happy life” and by listening to a video showing Deputy President William Ruto’s wife Rachel Ruto speaking fondly of her hubby, it is clear that the DP has a happy life.
In the video that left many Twitter users wowed, the wife of the DP gave a powerful testimony of Ruto’s generosity that goes way back to when he was a little boy.
He is a giver
Speaking in what seemed like a conference in the undated video, Rachel Ruto said she had known her husband for the past 27 years and one thing that always struck her about him is that he is a giver.
The beautiful wife said Ruto’s benevolence was part of who he is as a person and did not start when he became wealthy.
“He gave me a story of when he was just eight years old and he had just sold some maize so that he could buy himself a trouser for Christmas. But it Christmas came before he bought the trouser. I think those days the jeans were ‘pepe’ jeans.
“He says he went to church on 25th and found the AIC church had some giving for the child, he only had eight shillings and he gave everything to that offering,” she narrated.
Ruto walked barefoot after giving out his shoes
Rachel Ruto said even after they got married, she was amazed by the deputy president’s kindness that saw him one time, give out his shoes to a man who had none, and he walked barefooted instead.
“It was a trip to Lodwar in the Easter of 1994 and one Turkana pastor came to see us, and he did not have shoes. My husband removed his shoes and gave to the pastor and he walked barefooted,” she said to a thundering applause from the audience.
A smitten Rachel Ruto said because of this, the DP was a person that immensely touches her heart.
Though the second in command has successfully managed to keep his family and private life from the scrutiny of the public, he was indeed blessed to have a woman such as Rachel.
The video left netizens wowed and many said could not help but praise the Rachel. Here are some of the comments.
The mother of four is also a very prayerful woman and as earlier reported by TUKO.co.ke, the soft-spoken second lady convened a national prayer and fasting day on Wednesday, September 9, where she urged her fellow citizens to pray for the church, the nation, family and the media.
In a number of occasions, Ruto revealed how she sneaks out of their bed to pray overnight.
“On many occasions, I didn’t find my wife Rachel in our bed in the middle of the night because she would have sneaked out to pray,” Ruto said on April 8, 2016, after his case in the ICC ended.
